Truly Human, also known inside the route as La Cueva, is a cave installation by artist Noemi Manser.
When the piece was developed for Holistika, the installation was connected to the idea of Plato's cave: a space where shadows, perception and reality are questioned. Rather than treating the reference as philosophy, La Cueva brings it into the body. What do we see? What do we assume? What changes when we pause long enough to look again?
Located near the end of the Art Walk, the installation becomes a final place to sit, breathe and integrate the route. The many faces painted across the curved wall create a collective presence, while the benches and central fire circle turn the space into a natural point for meditation and gathering.
As the final stop, Truly Human invites the walk to turn inward. After color, symbols, structures and stories, the question becomes simple: what will you see differently when you leave?
- The cave shape as a space of shelter, reflection and perception.
- The many faces on the wall, like witnesses or reflections.
- The central circular form, almost like a moon, mirror or point of focus.
- The benches nearby, inviting you to sit and stay.
- The fire circle as a reminder of gathering, warmth and transformation.
- The shift from looking at murals to looking at how you see.
- The question the space leaves behind: what is shadow, and what is real?
